Replacement of oil and oil filter (petrol engines)

GENERAL INFORMATION

Stopper arrangement oil plum on the DOHC engine of 2,0 l

Access to the oil filter

Access to the oil filter on the SOHC models is possible from under an arch of the right forward wheel

Periodic replacement of oil and the oil filter – the most important preventive procedure of maintenance. When engine oil grows old, it becomes liquid and polluted that conducts to premature wear of the engine.

Before the beginning of this procedure gather all necessary tools and materials. It is necessary, that the engine was warm in order that oil flew down together with bulk of substances polluting it better.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. On models with DOHC engines remove a mudguard from under the engine.
2. Uncover a maslozalivny mouth.
3. Weaken a drain stopper approximately on a turn half. Place the container for oil plum under a drain stopper and unscrew a stopper completely. If it is necessary, press a stopper, when unscrew, that oil did not proceed prematurely (see fig. A stopper arrangement oil plum on the DOHC engine of 2,0 l).
4. When oil completely will flow down, move the container under the oil filter.
5. For improvement of access to the oil filter on models 1,8 and 2,0 of l lift a forward part of the car and remove the right forward wheel (see fig. Access to the oil filter).
6. Use the special tool to weaken the oil filter, then unscrew it a hand.
7. Wipe all traces of oil and dirt round a place of fastening of the filter. Check, whether there was a rubber consolidation on the block of cylinders. If it remained, remove it.
8. Grease with a thin layer of engine oil rubber consolidation of the new oil filter and screw up the filter a hand, without using any tools.
9. Establish a wheel and lower the car on the earth.
10. Check a condition of ring consolidation of a masloslivny stopper. Wipe everything round a drain opening a rag and reliably screw up a masloslivny stopper into place.
11. Fill in oil in the engine, using the corresponding grade of oil. Fill in a half of necessary amount of oil and wait some minutes that oil flew down in the pallet, then continue to fill in oil in the small portions while level of oil will not reach a minimum level on щупе. At addition about one more liters level of oil will rise to maximum on щупе. Close a cover of a jellied mouth.
12. Start the engine and let's to it work some minutes. Check it about leakages of oil round the filter and a drain stopper on the pallet. Keep in mind that the control bulb of pressure of oil can burn some seconds as oil should fill all channels and oil capacities in the engine.
13. Switch off the engine and wait some minutes that oil flew down in the pallet. Check level of oil and add, if it is necessary.
14. On models with the DOHC engine establish an engine mudguard.
